We built our own
coffee brand first.
Double Root is our functional coffee brand — formulation, identity, packaging and content, all built in-house. Here is exactly how it was made, and what it proves about how yours would be.
Most OEM factories ask you to trust a capability deck. We would rather show you a brand we took from a blank page to a shelf — our own — and walk you through every stage, including the awkward ones.
Why we built it at all
Every founder who calls us is really asking one question: can this factory make something people actually buy? A list of certifications does not answer that.
So we did it ourselves. Double Root is our own functional coffee brand, built from the ground up with no client to hide behind — formulation, identity, packaging and content, all in-house. It is the clearest proof we can take a drink concept from blank page to brand on shelf, because we did exactly that for ourselves before doing it for clients.
The blend came before the branding
We started where the product actually lives: taste. Roast profile, robusta-to-arabica ratio, creamer quality and sweetness were iterated until the second cup was as good as the first — because repeat purchase, not the first sale, is what makes a coffee brand.
Physical samples ran on the same two-to-three-week cycle we give clients, through as many rounds as it took. The functional actives were dosed at efficacious, compliant levels and the claim set written to match the registration route, not the marketing wish-list.
Branding by the same studio that would do yours
Identity, packaging and content were produced by the NaVi Marketing studio — the same team available to your project. Sachet, box and listing artwork were designed to the format from the start, not retrofitted after the fill size was locked.
That sequencing matters more than it sounds. Designing before you know your stick length or box count is how brands end up paying for artwork twice.
Compliance was not the last step
Halal was decided at the brief, not bolted on: creamer, flavourings and the filling line all had to sit inside a JAKIM-recognised halal system. Registration ran alongside formulation rather than queuing behind it.
This is the part founders most want to skip and the part that decides whether a product survives contact with a marketplace or a pharmacy buyer.
The numbers, honestly
Double Root runs at from RM1 per serving for the sachet fill, at a minimum of 10,000 servings — the same stick-pack MOQ we quote any client. At higher volume it is negotiable, and we would rather say so than pretend the first number is the only number.
One thing most factories leave vague: that RM1 is the product, not the packaging. Printed sachet film and outer boxes carry their own minimum order and their own cost, quoted separately. A quote that bundles them without saying so is how founders get surprised at production.
Before any of that, sampling is free — secured by a refundable RM250 per SKU credited straight back against your first order. Physical samples take two to three weeks; a custom formula needs around three months to reach verified stability.

We publish this because the economics are the part nobody will tell you. If the margin does not work, no amount of branding rescues it — and it is better to find that out on a spreadsheet than after a production run.
What it means for your brand
Double Root exists to prove the process end-to-end, and to keep us honest about what launching actually takes. It is a demonstration brand, not a portfolio we are scaling against our clients — your formula stays exclusively yours, in writing, and is never resold.
If you are launching a coffee, you get the benefit of every mistake we made on our own money. That is the whole point of building it.
FAQ
Quick answers.
Is Double Root a competitor to my brand?
No. It is a demonstration brand built to prove the process end-to-end, not a line we scale against clients. Your formula is exclusively yours in writing and never resold to anyone else.
Can you build my coffee brand the same way?
Yes — that is precisely why it exists. Same formulation team, same studio, same halal and registration route, same factory.
What was the hardest part?
Taste iteration and packaging sequencing. Getting the second cup as good as the first takes rounds, and locking artwork before the fill format is settled costs you a redesign.
Will you share the real cost breakdown?
Yes. Double Root is ours, not a client’s, so we can be specific: from RM1 per serving on a 10,000-serving run, with printed packaging quoted separately on its own MOQ. Ask us and we will map the same breakdown onto your product.
