Fibre dose, laxative limits and the detox claim
What a detox formula actually contains
Most detox SKUs are a fibre blend with a botanical or two on the front of the pack. The formulation work is deciding how much fibre a single serving can carry, and whether any stimulant laxative goes in at all. That second decision sets your registration category before anything else is settled.
Senna and the laxative line
Sennosides are stimulant laxatives. Standardised senna leaf in a daily cleanse sachet usually pushes the product out of the health supplement category and into traditional medicine, with dose caps and warning statements attached.
Fibre dose per serving
Psyllium husk does very little below roughly 3.5 g a serving, and 5 g is more typical. That volume will not fit a capsule; you would need ten or more. Fibre dose is what forces the sachet.
Resistant dextrin vs psyllium
Resistant dextrin dissolves clear at 5 to 10 g and stays thin in the cup. Psyllium gels within a minute and has to be drunk immediately. Choose by the drinking experience you want, not by fibre grams alone.
Aloe vera and aloin
Aloe vera leaf carries aloin, an anthraquinone laxative concentrated in the latex just under the leaf skin. Decolourised, aloin-reduced grades exist for a reason. Ask a supplier for the aloin figure in ppm, not just a 200:1 ratio.
The word detox itself
Detox is not a physiological function you can substantiate on a Malaysian health supplement label. Claims survive review when they are written around fibre intake and bowel regularity, with the detox idea living in the brand name and pack art.
Formats
Detox sells as a drink stick because the fibre dose demands it. Loose-sachet runs start from around 10,000 sticks. Capsules and tablets can start from as few as 100 boxes, which suits a low-dose botanical detox capsule but not a fibre one. Hygroscopic blends need a foil laminate stick either way, because inulin, fruit powders and citric acid cake fast in Malaysian humidity.
Halal & sourcing
Botanical detox extracts are often ethanol-extracted, and the flavour systems used in drink sticks commonly carry ethanol as a solvent. Both need halal documentation covering the solvent and the carrier, not just the finished powder.
